Church and Chapel

Church

The church is one of five in a Benefice (Farlington, Marton, Sheriff Hutton, Stillington and Sutton on Forest) with one vicar. It is well supported with over 100 on the electoral roll.

There are services each Sunday which are shown on the Church Notice Board and in the monthly Stillington News. Some services are based upon the 1662 Book of Common Prayer and some from Common Worship. A modern joint village praise with the Methodist Chapel takes place on the 1st Sunday of each month and this alternates between the two churches. On the 5th Sundays there is a Benefice Service at one of the churches when congregations from the five churches join together.

There are informal Morning Prayers at 9.00am each Thursday when people of all denominations are welcome. The prayers are often led by Lay People.

There is a young people's music and singing group which helps to lead worship at some services. Rehearsals are at Sheriff Hutton.

For further information please contact one of the Wardens. A very warm welcome is extended to everyone.
